Gajeta Olga was built in 1975 by shipbuilder Krešimir Uroda, and a minor reconstruction was done by Ante Fržop in 2006. The boat was built for family needs to access properties located across the sea. The boat was first owned by Omer Bilić and was then inherited by Zdenko Bilić. The boat was mainly used for harvesting of shellfish which were abundant in this area. By the shipbuilder’s design, the boat was adapted for installation of a heavy engine of that time. Despite the depth of the boat, it sails well and has good sailing performance.
Gajeta Olga has had the original hand-sewn lateen sail for the entire time all the way back from 1977 to present day.
Until recently, Olga participated in the work of the Žal Boating Club, where she used to tow sailboats, several of them at once, to numerous long navigation regattas of the Boating Club.
