During this year’s Festival of the Betina Gajeta, activities will be held to encourage and preserve the cultural heritage, knowledge and skills of local shipbuilders, as well as the skills of sailing and rowing in a wooden boat in the traditional way.
This year is the jubilee year for the association Betinska gajeta 1740, and it includes a number of events intended for a wider audience – workshops, lectures, traditional sailing and rowing demonstrations…
Three evenings will be held at the street in front of the museum – a workshop for making small wooden boats intended for children aged 10 to 14, a lecture by Krešimir Bosna on the topic of the stability of a wooden boat, and a lecture by shipbuilder Ante Fržop, who will tell the story of how the Za dušu i tilo regatta actually began.
The center of attention belongs to the traditional wooden boats race – Za dušu i tilo (For Body and Soul) which will be held on Sunday, August 14, when the crews of the most beautiful wooden boats on the Adriatic will sail at the jubilee 20th regatta!
