Traditional Wooden Shipbuilding Fair
Sales and exhibition fair with the aim of promoting and valorizing traditional wooden shipbuilding and related crafts
Betina, 3 – 5 June 2022

From June 3 to June 5, 2022, the Fair of Traditional Wooden Shipbuilding will be held in Betina, organized by the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding, the Tourist Board of Betina and the Betina gajeta 1740 association.
The program includes a traditional wooden boats exhibition, a sales and exhibition fair with manufacturers of equipment intended for wooden ships – ropes, fenders, deck equipment, fittings, small shipbuilding service – boat engines, electrical equipment, paints and varnishes, as well as fishing tools and equipment, expert lectures by shipbuilders and other traditional shipbuilding enthusiasts, presentations of traditional tools production, workshops for children and adults on ship building, sailing, environmental conservation, wooden boat regattas and sailing, as well as visits to the shipyards.
The gastronomic part of the manifestation, presentation and sales fair of products from family farms, traditional craftsmen and other local providers, will be held in the Betina main square. The program will be held outdoors – from the traditional shipyards, which will be presented at the fair too, to the Waterfront square. The most attractive part of the event, the exhibition of traditional boats, will be held at Dugi mul in Betina. The main part of the Betina waterfront will be the starting point of the presentational wooden boat regatta and other sailings included in the program. The workshops and the educational part will be held at the Betina Presentational Center.

The project aims to provide new opportunities for actors of Croatia’s small wooden shipbuilding industry and related traditional crafts, to promote maritime culture and to develop cultural tourism.
The project is primarily intended for shipbuilders, wooden boat owners, craftsmen, family farms, fishermen, members of the heritage associations, the local population, young people and children. The program is intended for lovers of maritime heritage and wooden shipbuilding.
The project was co-financed by the FLAG Galeb from Tribunj through the FLAG tender for the implementation of the Action 1.1.1. “Promotion of local fisheries, aquaculture, gastronomy and maritime heritage” from LRSR FLAG “Galeb”.
