Betinska brodogradnja
Etimologijski rječnik pučkog nazivlja
Jedinstveno djelo koje predstavlja temelj razumijevanja bogate maritimne baštine Betine. Rječnik je izdan prvi put 1997. godine u nakladi Muzeja grada Šibenika. Pri formiranju najopsežnije zbirke našeg Muzeja – one brodograditeljske, upravo je 1. izdanje ovog Rječnika poslužilo kao ključni vodič – strukturiran po pojmovima koji obuhvaćaju sve faze dizajniranja, gradnje i održavanja drvenog broda. Rječnik, kojeg su prošle godine stručno recenzirali izv. prof. dr. sc. Nikola Vuletić i izv. prof. dr. sc. Ivana Škevin Rajko, oboje profesori Sveučilišta u Zadru, dokumentira i tumači bogatu terminologiju betinske, murterske i korčulanske brodograđevne baštine, stavlja je u kontekst cjelokupne jadranske brodograđevne terminologije, uspoređuje s talijanskim govorima – najčešće mletačkim, te na koncu navodi i sličnozvučnice i istoznačnice i iz srednjovjekovne latinštine naših krajeva.
Rječnik detaljno opisuje oblik, funkciju, dimenzije i primjenu svakog pojedinog predmeta korištenog u tradicionalnoj drvenoj brodogradnji. Zahvaljujući njegovoj preciznosti i sustavnosti, omogućio je jasniji uvid u složenost brodograditeljskog zanata te znatno olakšao selekciju predmeta za muzejsku zbirku.
Ovo izdanje uključuje i detaljne ilustracije Nenada Bojmića i Krešimira Bosne, koje prikazuju ne samo elemente konstrukcije drvenog broda, već i različite uporabne predmete iz polja drvene brodogradnje i svakodnevnog života, nacrte tradicijskih brodova, alat te druge predmete. Uz to, u Rječnik su uvrštene i fotografije brodograditeljskih alata i predmeta iz fundusa Muzeja, prikupljene tijekom procesa kreiranja stalnog postava, što dodatno obogaćuje djelo autentičnim vizualnim prikazima zanata.
Ovo dopunjeno, 2. izdanje Filipijevog Rječnika betinske brodogradnje, namijenjeno je svima koji žele dublje razumjeti tradiciju, tehnologiju i terminologiju drvene brodogradnje – od stručnjaka i zaljubljenika u maritimnu baštinu do onih koji tek otkrivaju svijet drvene brodogradnje.
Publikacija je izdana u sunakladništvu s Hrvatskom sveučilišnom nakladom i uz potporu Ministarstva znanosti, obrazovanja i mladih Republike Hrvatske.

Etymological Dictionary of Local Terminology
A unique work that forms the foundation for understanding the rich maritime heritage of Betina. The Dictionary was first published in 1997 by the Šibenik City Museum. When creating the Museum’s most extensive collection – the shipbuilding collection – the first edition of this Dictionary served as a key guide, organized by terms that encompass all stages of designing, building, and maintaining a wooden boat. The Dictionary, which was professionally reviewed last year by Assoc. Prof. Nikola Vuletić, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Ivana Škevin Rajko, PhD, both faculty members of the University of Zadar, documents and interprets the rich terminology of the shipbuilding heritage of Betina, Murter, and Korčula, places it in the context of the broader Adriatic shipbuilding terminology, compares it with Italian dialects – most often Venetian — and finally also includes corresponding and similar-sounding terms from the medieval Latin used in the area.
The Dictionary provides detailed descriptions of the shape, function, dimensions, and use of each item employed in traditional wooden shipbuilding. Thanks to its precision and systematic structure, it offered clearer insight into the complexity of the shipbuilding craft and greatly facilitated the selection of objects for the museum collection.
This edition also includes detailed illustrations by Nenad Bojmić & Krešimir Bosna, which depict not only elements of boat construction but also various utilitarian objects from the field of shipbuilding and daily life, traditional boat plans, tools, and other related items. In addition, the Dictionary features photographs of shipbuilding tools and objects from the Museum’s collection, gathered during the creation of the permanent exhibition, further enriching the work with authentic visual documentation of the craft.
This expanded second edition of Filipi’s Dictionary of Betina Shipbuilding is intended for everyone who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of the tradition, technology, and terminology of wooden shipbuilding—from experts and enthusiasts of maritime heritage to those just discovering the world of wooden boatbuilding.
The publication was issued in co-publishing with the Croatian University Press and with the support of the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of the Republic of Croatia.
